Is this where Dan flakes out for 3-4 months and then magically reappears just before the event?

I warned him about that, and he said it wouldn't happen. I have my doubts.

No I'm still here. I just figured it wasn't necessary to comment on the side subject as I don't have a huge amount of posts. I appreciate the under 21's not putting the liability on me as Its hard to get a security clearance with a Contributing charge.

Anyone is welcome to stay though 21 or not. I mean I'll have to go on good faith but I haven't met anyone sketchy yet.

Good call, Dan. With that said, if I catch anyone under 21 drinking, I will take their drink away from them. I am sure others will do the same.

On a side note, a new thread was created for the Carlisle show if you want to jump in on that.

As stated, if I were to go, I wouldn't drink. As a minor, it's illegal, and practically unethical.

I'm not entirely sure where to go from here. Would you like me to plan it on an MIR weekend? Either way works for me. I appreciate any ideas as I'd like to get the planning started ASAP so we can have the best possible turnout.

It seems from the 'senior' members this is a viable option so I'll run with it. Also, I guess I should start a new thread (Sorry for asking for the sticky early Steve) which is strictly dedicated to the event?

Thanks for all of your input guys - this is going to be great but I'm new on the event planning.

I think I said this before at some point but I want to point out this is the annual BBQ. No different from any of the other years'- I don't want anyone to think because you're underage you're not welcome. We will have alcohol at this event but it shouldn't be any different from any other BBQ. I hope we have the same amount (If not more) of people attending as Great Falls.

Hopefully that makes sense?

Yup, well thank you. I could most likely go, but the only determining factor is when it will be held.

You shouldn't need to create a new thread, Dan. Brainstorm on a few dates, making sure to select at least one date that is around an MIR event, and request that a moderator create a poll. That way, the rest of those interested can take a vote for the most suitable date.

You're more than welcome to join. For food, I'd suggest bringing a large bag of chips or some snacks. Since you are new - a "non-critical" item is going to be your responsibility so if you don't show, you don't fuck us over of something we need (i.e. condiments, ice, etc.)

Keg - probably not needed, read through the thread and you'll see why. I'm not sure who all is drinking, but whomever is, most likely will be a BYOB and will most likely be carded for Dan's sake as I'm sure he doesn't want to be liable for contributing to any possible minors.

Welcome to the site. You'll see that we're a great group to get along with, but we run a tight ship and have high standards.

So I just looked through the 2010 MIR schedule and I don't see anything we've gone to before (NOPI, etc). I've posted a link below to see if there is anything I missed.
If nobody sees anything that would be attractive to a majority of people I'll throw out some dates. I'm thinking late May to Mid July. We could do a 4th BBQ, but I imagine quite a few people will have family things to do.

http://www.mirdrag.com/v2/schedule/

Three Dates -

MAY 15-16
MAY 22-23
June 12-13

Doug (Or steve) Would you be able to post those dates to a poll for me? Thx.

I would be fine with May 22-23 or June 12-13. May 15-16 is the weekend after Carlisle, so that would be traveling two weekends in a row. But, as I said before, I am all right with whatever the rest of you decide on.

Good thinking Chris, thanks. When you get a chance Admin, please put a poll up for
May 22-23, May 29-30, June 5-6 or June 12-13 (if we can have four).

Thanks.

May 29-30 is the Tail of the Dragon huge National Meet thing in TN.
June 5-6 is the OC Car Show at the OC Convention Center

May 22-23 or June 12-13 are reasonable, although I would prefer June.

Damn Steve put me in my place lol! I dont think anyone is going to TN, no? Ocean city I want to go (Thats a whole new thread I guess I'll start in a minute). June works for me. What are you thinking? Let's go the four weekends in June? July 4-5 works for me as well if there are enough peopl who are interested. My uncle lives four miles away on the patuxent river and they do a Fireworks show for those with kida. IDK What are your thoughts? I'm new to this, I appreciate your leniency in this matter.

Works for me. I'd aim for earlier rather than later due to the heat. (I have A/C obviously). Did you want to do the first three weekends in June and the weekend of the 4th in July?

EDIT- Made the OC car show post didn't link cause we need to get this situated first. Either way it's in mid atlantic events area.

I wouldn't group this with a long holiday weekend like the 4th. People like to do other things, spend time with family cookouts, vacation, etc. Besides, July starts to get pretty damn hot.

Stick with June. I'm going to TN for that thing in May, not that it matters - just saying.

June also works for me. My birthday will not be affected since it is on a Tuesday, so any weekend will be fine as far as I am concerned.

Stick with June. I'm going to TN for that thing in May, not that it matters - just saying.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking about the fourth. I'm not sure of plans yet but I'll probably end up doing something with the fam anyway.

So on another note I'm making it official. Date TBD but the location is my home. My address is
15211 Hughesville Manor DR
Hughesville, MD 20637

Once we get closer the ones who are staying let me know. I've got an extra bedroom (No bed yet but several air mattresses) and a queen pull out couch. We can accomodate everyone comfortably as necessary.

Once we find a date I'll start a list of people coming and what they're bringing as well as who's staying.

Edit again - changed the OP to make official BBQ thread as well as added attendee list.

Is there any way we can remove the word 'proposal' from the thread title?

BTW, I see there are 4 votes so far for 6/12. Just keep in mind this is the weekend after OC.

thx. I see the poll is open until early march so I'm going to wait it out to see who else responds. It seems only the few of us are giving input so far...
