WHAT: Carlisle Performance and Style Show
WHERE: Carlisle, PA
WHEN: May 8-9, 2010

Welcome to the official 2010 Carlisle Performance and Style Show thread. Please post if you plan on attending so that your name can be added to the list. Links for online registration and mail-in registration are available below. Please speak up if you have any suggestions (e.g., tent(s), hotels, etc.) regarding this show so that they may be considered. I will keep the original post as up-to-date as possible.

Carlisle Performance & Style is more than a car show; P&S is a motorsports and lifestyle celebration. The first weekend in May, the 102-acre Carlisle PA Fairgrounds will once again be home to the hottest, loudest, most tricked-out cars, trucks and SUVs on the East Coast. Over 1,500 custom compacts, tuners, modern muscle cars, VIP sedans and SUVs, mini trucks and more will roll up on the Performance and Style Showfield. Pile on stunt shows, live music, competitions and special guests and you will see that Carlisle is the place to let the world know that the movement is still alive! This year, Carlisle P&S will include:

~ Showfield
~ Vendors
~ Tuned in T - a true representation of the timeline of our "tuner" passion
~ VIP Lane
~ The P&S Playground
~ Performance Pavilion - home to 350 HP + and modern muscle
~ Loudest and Lowest
~ Burnout Contest
~ Car Club Contest
~ Miss Carlisle Performance and Style
~ Sunday judging
~ Sunday Award Parade
~ And more...

The event website: Carlisle Events Performance and Style. Experience The Cars. The People. The Excitement..

I will probably be going. Last year was pretty fun. I didn't see anything about the drifting expo/autocross event, only a burnout competition.

I completely forgot to link the actual event website, so thank you for pointing that out. I will add it right now.

I have a friend here in town who participates in the drifting. I will ask him if they are having it again this year. I imagine they will be.

Are you going to be parking with us, or do you plan on attending a bit later like you did last year?

I will add your name to the list.

This has been brought up a number of times. I still have the same opinion I had before. I am all for increasing the member-base of this club, but not at the expense of it turning into a bunch of kids making trouble at meets and shows.

I'm sure there are a few others besides myself that would make sure this NEVER happens. We could always take votes on new members that want to join and give them a "probation" period or something.

No probation period needed. They're either going to fit in - or get the boot. Pretty simple.

No doubt, Alex. I would be one of the ones making sure that this place stays the way it is, and our meets continue the way that they are.

Is there something I missed, Jerome? Why did you bring up the fact of gas going to $4?

I think it was a valid question, maybe even that Jerome was forshadowing because of a recent event ( that could cause a jump in price) that ALEX may not be aware of. Stop being a dickhead.

I though so......why would someone just come out and say "As long as gas prices don't go up to $4 a gallon."?

I saying if gas goes up to $4 gal I won't be blowing $60. for a road trip. You know how the oil companies act. Any event means gas goes up. Right now I can see them saying that the bad weather we are getting has affected oil production. Thus the demand is very high and the supply is low which means higher prices. I have had flashbacks from a couple of years ago when gas topped $4. gal and I limited my driving to necessary trips.

I have to figure out a way to harness and burn methane gas to use, then a road trip is just a few farts away.

So there's (estimated) nine of us. Would it be worth it for me to look into group rates at the hotel? Also should we get a tent? I plan on parking inside, but I can't offer to put the deposit down for the tent this year as I'm currently unemployed.

As far as a hotel is concerned, I will let you all determine what you want to do with that. I haven't decided whether or not I will be staying overnight. I didn't last year.

If I remember correctly, a couple of members brought a tent each, so we had two. We didn't bother getting a tent from Cars at Carlisle. I'd imagine that we could do the same thing this year because after what happened two years ago, there is no reason why anyone would expect you to front the money for one.
